Disasters

These are just good people!  They are also loads of fun!  We love 'em all!

This weekend a group of us traveled to Little Rock for Disaster Relief training.  I am not sure how equipped we are but we had a lot of fun together.  What can we say?  They paid us in smiley faced donuts!  Who can resist that temptation?

You can't see her pink pants because of her chaps.

Dan and I took the recovery workshop which included power saw training.  One feisty little gal decked out in girly girl pink was the first in line to fire one up.  Disaster Relief is not for boys only!  You go girl!

We had a 90 foot pine tree which was hovering dangerously close to the house.  Remembering the tree that fell on our house last year, we finally bit the expensive bullet and hired tree removers.  Dan balked a bit saying he could do it.  I don't think so.  After watching a worker climb to the very top almost out of sight with chain saw dangling, I thanked God we hired professionals!  Yipes!
Tree cutter barely visible at the very top!  Yipe!

Hopefully, since we are prepared (somewhat) for emergencies, none will occur. Hopefully.  Some disasters are natural.  Some are caused by our reckless behaviors like some motor cycle enthusiasts..  Some of us are just born to flirt with disaster.  Namely, toddlers.  But, darn if they aren't the cutest ever!

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.
1 Peter 3:25
